HÀ NỘI — National U19 players have gathered in Hà Nội to train for the ASEAN Football Federation Championship on July 2-14.

They will practise at the National Youth Training Centre for several weeks before taking part in a training course in China from June 15-25.

At the regional championship in Indonesia, Việt Nam are placed in Group A with Thailand, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines and the hosts. Group B includes Malaysia, Myanmar, East Timor, Cambodia and Brunei.

In April, Việt Nam took part in the Suwon JS Cup in South Korea against Mexico, Morocco and the hosts.

Despite finishing at the bottom, coach Hoàng Anh Tuấn appreciated the effort of his players and said they gained experience from the loss for future competitions. — VNS
