Japanese women dominated at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB)’s Tuần Châu-Hạ Long Opens 2018 which concluded in Hạ Long city of the northern coastal province of Quảng Ninh on May 12.

HÀ NỘI — Japanese women dominated at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB)’s Tuần Châu-Hạ Long Open 2018 which concluded in Hạ Long city of the northern coastal province of Quảng Ninh on Saturday.

The final was between Yui Nagata and Minori Kumada (Japan 3) and Sayaka Mizoe and Suzuka Hashimoto (Japan 2).

The Japan 2 side won 25-23, 21-18 and 15-13, taking first prize with a cash award of US$20,000.

Another Japanese pair, Yukako Suzuki and Koha Sakaguchi, beat an Israeli team 2-1 to bag the bronze prize.

The four-day competition, belonging to the FIVB’s World Tour, drew 18 teams from 12 countries including Viet Nam, Canada, the Czech Republic, and Denmark. — VNS
