HÀ NỘI — Rookie Vietfootball lost to Tân Hiệp Hưng 1-9 in the first match of the National Futsal HDBank Championship on Tuesday at Đà Nẵng’s Tiên Sơn Sports Arena.
Vietfootball, is made up of students from Đà Nẵng Sports University and they only had a month’s training for the event.
Meanwhile, in the derby of Đà Nẵng City, Kim Toàn Đà Nẵng tied with Hoàng Thư Đà Nẵng 3-3.
Although Cao Bằng played better than Sanest Tourist KhánhHòa, the two teams also drew 1-1.
In the next matches on May 3, Cao Bằng will take on Hoàng Thư Đà Nẵng, Kim Toàn Đà Nẵng will face Tân Hiệp Hưng and Vietfootball will fight Sanest Tourist Khánh Hòa.
Twelve futsal teams are taking part in the tournament, which is divided into two stages.
The first stage is underway and will go on till May 9. Six teams will compete in a round-robin format. Four winners will enter the second stage.
The second stage will include 10 teams (including the four winners of the first stage and six leading teams in the previous championship). It will be held in HCM City from November 24 to December 3.
The winner of the championship will represent the country at AFC Futsal Club Championship 2019 while the runner-up will compete at AFF Futsal Club Championship 2019. — VNS
