Việt Nam win 6 golds at SEA athletics championships

Việt Nam has won six gold medals of the Southeast Asia (SEA) Junior Athletics Championships at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has won six gold medals of the Southeast Asia (SEA) Junior Athletics Championships at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.

The gold medals went to Lê Tiến Long in men’s 3,000m run, Dương Thị Hoa in 100m run, Ngô Thị Khánh Ny in 800m run, Bùi Thị Nguyên in the 100m obstacle race, Hoàng Thị Giang in long jump and Đoàn Thu Hằng in the women’s 3,000m run on Wednesday.

Vietnamese athletes also bagged seven silver and three bronze medals.

Thailand temporarily topped the medal tally with seven golds, three silvers and five bronzes, followed by Việt Nam and Malaysia.

The tournament attracted athletes born between 2001 and 2003 from 10 SEA countries. They competed in 19 men’s and women’s categories each. Việt Nam sent 32 athletes to compete in running, high jump, long jump, shotput and javelin. — VNS
