HÀ NỘI — HCM City’s cyclists shone at the sixth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament yesterday.

Sprinter Lê Nguyệt Minh of HCM City-Minh Giang triumphed in the 140km stage from Thanh Hóa to Vinh City with a time of 3:21.06 and an average speed of 41.77km per hour.

Minh’s older brother Lê Văn Duẩn of VUS-HCM City and captain Mai Nguyễn Hưng of VUS-HCM City were the runners-up.

Although Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7 didn’t finish in top three, he still won the yellow jersey award for the best overall time after six stages.

Minh retained the green jersey award for best sprinter, while the white jersey for best young cyclist was awarded to Nguyễn Cường Khang of VUS-HCM City. In the team rankings, Military Zone 7 maintained their lead.

Today, cyclists of 13 national squads will compete in the seventh stage, running 199km from Vinh City of the central province of Nghệ An to Đồng Hới City of Quảng Bình Province. — VNS
