Việt Nam lose in junior Davis and Fed cups

Việt Nam lost 1-2 to Pacific Oceania in the semi-finals of the Junior Davis Cup yesterday in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam lost 2-1 to Pacific Oceania in the semi-finals of the Junior Davis Cup on Friday in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Trần Quang Trường lost 3-6, 6-4, 4-6 to Robert Schorr in the first singles match.

Từ Lê Khánh Duy was beaten 1-6, 3-6 by Clement Mainguy in the second.

Trường and Tất Thái Nguyên pulled one back for Việt Nam by beating Schorr and Ken Song 6-2, 6-1.

They will see Sri Lanka in the play-off third place match today.

Earlier, in the quarter-finals, the Vietnamese boys defeated the Maldives 3-0.

On the girls’ side, Việt Nam lost 3-0 to Singapore in the Junior Fed Cup on Wednesday.

They will face Lebanon in the match for fifth and sixth positions. — VNS
