VN U23 team receive prize of $1 million

Việt Nam’s U23 team have received prizes worth up to VNĐ23 billion (US$1 million) from different organisations after winning a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship, according to the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF).

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s U23 team have received prizes worth up to VNĐ23 billion (US$1 million) from different organisations after winning a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship, according to the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF).

Among the rewards, the team received VNĐ3.6 billion from the VFF, VNĐ1.5 billion from the Việt Nam Professional Football Join Stock Company (VPF) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and VNĐ3.2 billion from the National Olympic Committee. This is a record reward for a Vietnamese football team. Earlier in 2008, the national football team got over VNĐ10 billion in rewards following winning the championship at the AFF Cup.

Additionally, the coaching staff and U23 players received special holiday packages at luxury resorts and funding for training courses from different sponsors nationwide. — VNS
