HÀ NỘI — Former midfielder Trần Anh Khoa, who is famous in Việt Nam after suffering a severe injury two years ago, is now strong enough to get married on Thursday in the beach city of Đà Nẵng.
As per local media reports, the bride’s name is Phan Việt Khánh.
This will be a new beginning for the former SHB Đà Nẵng player, who had to quit the game last year owing to that injury.
Khoa, 27, used to be a national hero. Unfortunately, he suffered a serious knee injury in 2015 after a foul by Sông Lam Nghệ An defender Quế Ngọc Hải during a V.League match. His knee’s meniscuses, ligaments, tendon and joint were broken.
Khoa visited many hospitals in Việt Nam and Singapore. Hải was forced to bear the cost of treatment, amounting to VNĐ800 million (US$36,000), the first ever such case in Việt Nam.
After undergoing treatment for nearly two years, doctors concluded that Khoa could not play football again. He then started working as a trainer.
And now he is starting the next stage in his relationship that will bring him a happy ever after. — VNS
