HÀ NỘI — Thái Sơn Nam took the trophy at the HCM City Open Futsal tournament on December 20 at Phú Thọ Gymnasium in HCM City. The team defeated defending champions Thái Sơn Bắc 2-1 in the final to triumph in the event.
Thái Sơn Bắc played defensively from the start of the match, allowing Thái Sơn Nam few chances to score.
After the break, Xuân Du opened the score for Thái Sơn Nam in the 22nd minute.
The goal inspired Thái Sơn Nam to play more aggressively. Receiving a spectacular pass from Trọng Luân, Văn Quý doubled the score for his team in the 25th minute.
Seven minutes later, Thái Sơn Bắc narrowed the gap to 1-2.
This is the third title for Thái Sơn Nam this year. Earlier, the team won the National Futsal Championship and the National Cup.
In the match for third-place, Hải Phương Nam crushed Cao Bằng 3-1.
