SLNA in group H of 2018 AFC Cup

Việt Nam National Cup champion Sông Lam Nghệ An (SLNA) are in Group H at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League, according to the draw done at the headquarters of AFC at Kuala Lumpur done on December 6.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam National Cup champion Sông Lam Nghệ An (SLNA) are in Group H at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League, according to the draw at the headquarters of AFC at Kuala Lumpur held yesterday.

SLNA will face Johor Darul Ta’zim of Malaysia, Tampines Rovers of Singapore and Persija Jakarta of Indonesia.

V.League 1 runners-up FLC Thanh Hóa, who replaced champions Quảng Nam FC as they don’t have enough youth teams to satisfy AFC regulations, are in Group G alongside Bali United of Indonesia, Yangon United of Myanmar and the team that finishes second in the Philippines.

SLNA previously met Tampines Rovers and Persija Jakarta in the group stage of the AFC Cup in 2011 and 2012.

In 2011, SLNA lost to Persija Jakarta 3-1 at Vinh Stadium, while in 2012, SLNA beat Tampines Rovers 3-1 on their hometurf and tied goalless away from home. — VNS
