HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội 1 earned a slot to compete in the semi-final round of the National Football Women’s Championship on November 23.
The team beat Sơn La 1-0 in the 13th round at Hà Nam Stadium. This win helped the team take a last ticket to play in the semi-finals.
Although Hà Nội 1 were slotted higher than Sơn La they did not live up to the ranking in the first few minutes of the first half. After that, following continuous attacks in the penalty area of Sơn La, Phạm Hải Yến opened the score for Hà Nội in the 13th minute with a head shot.
Hà Nội 1 launched many quick attacks but they failed to score more goals.
After the break, Sơn La fought back strongly. They defended and attacked well, making it difficult for Hà Nội 1 to defend against the attacks.
While the No 1 team still had several chances to double their score luck did not favour them.
In the other match held at the same time at Thiên Trường Stadium, bottom-ranked team Hà Nội 2 tied with Thái Nguyên 1-1.
Striker Nguyễn Thị Đăng helped Thái Nguyên take the lead in the first half, however, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Nhã levelled the score of 1-1 for the No 2 team in the 63rd minute.
Alongside Hà Nội 1, three other teams also reached the semi-finals including HCM City 1, Phong Phú Hà Nam and Việt Nam Coal and Mineral. — VNS
