Vietnamese tennis players failed in the quarter-final category of men’s doubles of the Việt Nam F3 Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Bình Dương yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese tennis players stuttered in the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles of the Việt Nam F3 Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Bình Dương yesterday.

Wildcards Lê Khang Trung and Tất Thái Nguyên were defeated by Tyler Lu of the US and Kelsey Stevenson of Canada 6-3, 6-2 after 43 minutes.

Vietnamese Vũ Artem and Miguel Diaz of the US also lost to Japanese duo Issei Okamura and Shunrou Takeshima 6-3, 6-1 after one hour and nine minutes.

In other matches, duo Yurii Dzhavakian of Ukraine and Arjun Kadhe of India defeated Japanese Sho Katayama and Arata Onozawa 6-4, 7-6 (3). Keisuke Numajiri of Japan and S D Prajwal Dev of India bested Russian Sergey Bolotov and Ivan Mikhaylyuk 6-3, 6(5)-7, 10-6.

In the second round of the men’s singles, Nathan Pasha of the US defeated Kelsey Stevenson of Canada 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, Daniiar Duldaev of Kyrgyzstan crushed Sho Katayama of Japan 6-3, 6-1 and Issei Okamura of Japan beat Michael Look of Australia 7-6 (5), 6-2 in one hour and 37 minutes. — VNS
