HÀ NỘI — Russian, Mikhail Youzhny, grabbed the men’s singles title at the Hưng Thịnh Challenger Vietnam Open tennis tournament on Sunday in HCM City.

The former world No 8 defeated Australian, John Millman, 6-4, 6-4 in an 81-minute match at the Lan Anh Tennis Club.

The title won Youzhny, currently world No 101, US$7,200 bonus in cash and 90 points, which pushes him to No 87 in the world on Monday’s ranking release. Meanwhile, Millman enters the top 200 this week.

Earlier, Saketh Myneni and Vijay Sundar Prashanth of India beat Ben McLachlan and Go Soeda of Japan 7-6, 7-6. — VNS
