HÀ NỘI — The National Top Players Badminton Tournament is scheduled to kick off on October 22 in the northern province of Thái Bình.

The event will attract the participation of leading players of the country, including Nguyễn Tiến Minh and Phạm Cao Cường of HCM City, Vũ Thị Trang and Nguyễn Thị Sen of Bắc Giang, as well as Lê Đức Phát of the Military team and Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Thúy of Cần Thơ, competing in the men’s and women’s singles matches.

In the doubles event, Đỗ Tuấn Đức and Phạm Như Thảo of Hà Nội, Dương Bảo Minh and Dương Bảo Đức of HCM City, and Nguyễn Hoàng Anh and Nguyễn Thị Bé Trâm of the People’s Police will also take part in the event.

Participants will compete for five sets in the men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The event is co-organised by the National Sports Administration, Việt Nam Badminton Federation and the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the event last year, Minh of HCM City and Trang of Bắc Giang won the titles in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively. — VNS
