Bình Dương win men’s tennis team title first time in history

HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Văn Phương and teammate Trịnh Linh Giang won the National Tennis Championships’ men’s team event for Becamex Bình Dương yesterday in HCM City.

Sixteen-year-old Phương beat Trần Hoàng Anh Khoa of the Military 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the first singles match of the final at the Lan Anh Club.

Giang, who joined Bình Dương from Hà Nội a few months ago, won 6-3, 6-3 over Triệu Hoàng Hiếu in the second match, securing Bình Dương’s first men’s title.

On Thursday, the Military defeated HCM City to win the women’s team event.

The championships will continue with men’s and women’s singles and doubles until October 12.  — VNS
