HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam national football team’s acting head coach Mai Đức Chung selected 24 players to prepare for the match against Cambodia in Group C of the Asian Cup 2019’s qualifying round at Mỹ Đình National Stadium on October 10.

The coach named three goalkeepers including Huỳnh Tuấn Linh of Quảng Ninh Coal, Nguyễn Tuấn Mạnh of Sanna Khánh Hòa and Bùi Tiến Dũng of FLC Thanh Hóa.

At the back, fans will welcome the return of Quế Ngọc Hải of Sông Lam Nghệ An alongside five other players. Hải is expected to be an important part of Việt Nam’s defence.

The 66-year-old Chung called 10 midfielders including Đinh Thanh Trung, an outstanding Quảng Nam player.

In the attack, Chung chose Nguyễn Văn Quyết of Hà Nội, Mạc Hồng Quân of Quảng Ninh Coal, Nguyễn Công Phượng of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai, Hà Đức Chinh of SHB Đà Nẵng and young ace Ngân Văn Đại of Sài Gòn FC.

The team will convene on October 3 in Hà Nội to commence six days of preparation for the match.
