Another good news has arrived to Việt Nam Sports when swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên has bagged another gold medal for the national sports team who are competing at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in Turkmenistan yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese sport got a boost when swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên bagged another gold medal at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in Turkmenistan yesterday.

Clocking 1:01:68 in the womens 100m medley, Viên also broke the AIMAG record.

The silver medal went to Chinese swimmer Zhang Chenyai, clocking 1:00:91.

In total, the Vietnamese swimming phenom has bagged two gold medals, and broken two AIMAG records in the women’s 100m and 200m medley.

Viên’s gold was Viet Nam’s 11th at the AIMAG.

Also the same day, dancing couple Nguyễn Trung Kiên and Phạm Hồng Anh won gold in dancesport, also known as competitive ballroom dancing. They won over the jury and the audience with their emotional performance. The silver and bronze medals were presented to Hong Kong and host country’s teams respectively.

Anh said she was very proud with their achievements after a lot of strenuous training. She also said that harmonious co-operation with her partner Kiên contributed to the impressive performance.

Việt Nam currently rank 7th in the medal table. — VNS
