HÀ NỘI — Top Vietnamese player Lý Hoàng Nam was ousted from the Thailand F4 Futures tennis tournament in Nonthaburi Province on Thursday.

No 1 seed Nam lost to No 7 seed Lee Kuan-Yi of Chinese Taipei 2-6, 3-6 in the quarter-finals.

Nam is now world No 471, while Lee is No 617.

Earlier, Nam beat Noh Sang-woo of South Korea and Kerdlaphee Kittirat of the hosts in the first and second round.

Although Nam failed in this event, he will add two points in the ATP rankings to reach 83 points.

After the Thai tournament, Nam and his teammates Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên, Nguyễn Văn Phương and Phạm Minh Tuấn will compete in the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia. — VNS
