HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s U17 football team beat Cambodia 4-0 in a friendly match in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on June 21.

The match was among one of the sports activities held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Việt Nam, with players who had participated in the final round of the Asian U16 Championships such as Nguyễn Hữu Thắng, Nguyễn Khắc Khiêm, and Nguyễn Trọng Long, scored two goals in each half of the match.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Thạch Dư, representatives of Cambodian ministries and departments, and thousands of spectators from both nations cheered for the teams. — VNS
