HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s northern province of Lào Cai will team up with China’s southwestern province of Yunnan in hosting an international cycling race in July.

The event, which will take place on July 8-9, is part of the Lào Cai – Northwest national tourism year 2017 and a step towrad Sa Pa becoming a national tourism site.

It also aims to promote images of local people and landscapes to domestic and foreign visitors.

The event is expected to draw 700 cyclists from Viet Nam, China and other countries. Participants will compete in individual terrain racing in Lao Cai, while the individual downhill racing category for two age groups of under 35 and above 36 will be held in Hekou district, Yunnan province. — VNS
