HÀ NỘI — VUS HCM City’s Lê Văn Duẩn did a 20km solo tour to win the sixth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament yesterday.

National team athlete finished the 86km stage from Đắk Lắk Province’s Buôn Mê Thuột City to Buôn Đôn District and back in a time of 2hr 8.55min.

Duẩn was not part of the leading group at the start, but he gradually caught up with them and took the lead at the 66km mark.

He rode alone towards the end and pocketed his first stage win. He said his victory was for his newborn daughter.

Lê Nguyệt Minh of HCM City’s youth squad came second and Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7 was third.

Nguyễn Dương Hồ Vũ of HCM City’s youth squad failed to maintain his lead in the overall ranking after getting a flat tyre. He fell to No 22.

Giang Thanh Tuấn of Army bagged the top position. He clocked 12:23:41 for six stages. Nguyễn Hoàng Thái of Calytos Đồng Tháp was second, followed by Trần Nguyễn Minh Trí of Domesco Đồng Tháp.

There is no change in the team ranking. BTV Đại Nam Bình Dương, Military Zone 7 and Domesco Đồng Tháp are the three top teams, respectively.

The seventh stage today is from Buôn Ma Thuột to Gia Lai on a 182km stretch. — VNS
