HÀ NỘI — Tiffany Linh Nguyễn and Diễm Quỳnh won the National Women’s Tennis Championships’ U18 doubles category Wednesday in Đắk Lắk Province.
The Bình Dương Province duo dominated Huỳnh Thị Huế Anh and Huỳnh Ánh of Sóc Trăng Province 6-1, 6-1.
The over-18 doubles title went to Savanna Lý Nguyễn and Kim Ngân, who defeated Andrea Lê and Bé Xuyên 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 in an all-Army match.
Tiffany has her chance to take the second title here and earn a berth in the over-18 singles after beating Thanh Trúc of HCM City 6-2, 6-1 in the semi-finals. She will play Savanna Lý Nguyễn of Army in the final Thursday. Savanna won 6-1, 6-3 over Thanh Bình of Đà Nẵng in the other semis match.
In the U16 singles, Andrea Lê of Army came from behind to beat Mai Hương of Hải Dương 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 for a slot in the final. She will meet Nguyễn Thị Phuơng of Hà Nội.
In the last day of the tournament Thursday, there will be another final between Hanoian Nguyễn Ngọc Minh Phương and Huế Anh in the U18 singles event. — VNS
