The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) yesterday decided to suspend striker Hoàng Vũ Samson of Hà Nội FC for two matches.

HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) yesterday decided to suspend striker Hoàng Vũ Samson of Hà Nội FC for two matches.

Samson took a dangerous shot towards Châu Ngọc Quang of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai in the third round of the national premier league on January 17.

Meanwhile, striker Pape Omar Faye of FLC Thanh Hóa recived a good news when the VFF reduced his punishment from an eight match suspension to a six match suspension and retained its fine of VNĐ30 million (US$1,300).

Earlier, Faye made a rude gesture toward supporters during the match between Thanh Hóa and Khánh Hòa in the league’s second round.

In other news, Phạm Thế Nhật of Sông Lam Nghệ An will be suspended five matches and fined VNĐ25million ($1,086) for punching Lê Trung Hiếu of Đắk Lắk’s face in the National Cup on February 4. — VNS
