Việt Nam win six gold medals at international taekwondo cup

Vietnamese fighters won six of eight gold medals at an international taekwondo tournament, the President Cup, in HCM City on Saturday.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese fighters won six of eight gold medals at an international taekwondo tournament, the President Cup, in HCM City on Saturday.

The women dominated, with all four titles won by Nguyễn Thị Trang in the U49kg pool, Trần Thị Tuyết in the U57kg, Phạm Thị Thu Hiền in the U67kg and Bắc Thị Khiêm in the U67kg. 

On the men’s side, Hồng Minh Cao took the U80 event, while Trần Hồng Tiến topped the over-80kg. Two other titles went to Ramnarong Sawekwihare in the U58kg and Nuhbanee Klong in the U68kg, both from Thailand.

Athletes will next participate at the VTF Cup for team categories which is one of activites to celebrate the Việt Nam Taekwondo Federation’s 20th anniversary. — VNS
