Nam, Hảo win national tennis titles

Vietnamese top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam of Bình Dương took the men’s singles title at the National Best Tennis Players Tournament which wrapped up in the central province of Nghệ An on Saturday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top tennis player, Lý Hoàng Nam of Bình Dương Province, easily took  the men’s singles title at the National Best Tennis Players Tournament that wrapped up in Nghệ An Province on Saturday.

Nam defeated Phạm Minh Tuấn of Đà Nẵng 6-2, 6-0 in the final.

Trịnh Linh Giang also of Bình Dương and his teammate Nguyễn Văn Phương shared the third place.

On the women’s side, Trần Thị Tâm Hảo of HCM City took the title, beating Phan Thị Thanh Bình of Đà Nẵng 6-2, 7-5.

Trần Thụy Thanh Trúc of HCM City and Nguyễn Thị Bé Xuyên of Kiên Giang were third place finishers.

Earlier, Lê Quốc Khánh and Lâm Quang Trí of HCM City defeated Hoàng Thành Trung and Ngô Đức Dương of the Police to win the men’s doubles title.

The women’s doubles title was won by Phan Thị Thanh Bình and  Đỗ Đan Thi of Đà Nẵng , who beat Bé Xuyên and Nguyễn Minh Huyền of Kiên Giang.

The five-day tournament, jointly organised by the Việt Nam Tennis Federation, provincial departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Nghệ An Tennis Federation, attracted the participation of 31 best players in the country. — VNS
