HÀ NỘI — Đỗ Văn Bình has been elected President of the Việt Nam Shooting Federation for 2016-20.

Bình is deputy chairman of board of directors of Sông Đà Industrial Zone and Urban Construction and Development Joinstock Company in Hà Nội.

He will be supported by six vice presidents, one of them being Nguyễn Thị Nhung, head coach of the national team.

At a two-day meeting over the weekend in Hà Nội, the federation set to make shooting a national elite sport and speed its development among the public, after marksman Hoàng Xuân Vinh’s won Olympic gold and silver medals in 2016.

Further goals of the federation are to maintain Việt Nam as one of three best countries in Asia, and bring home more medals from international and Olympic competitions. — VNS
