HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội tops the medal tally after the first day of the National Rowing Championship in Hải Phòng City.

Athletes from the capital have dominated rowing for years and showed their mettle with four golds yesterday.

They won the first title in the men’s quadruple sculls 2,000m with a time of 6min 06.67sec.

Duo Triệu Thị Nhung and Triệu Thị Huệ topped the lightweight women’s doubles event, finishing the 2,000m race in 7:52.91.

Nguyễn Văn Hà grabbed the third gold in the lightweight men’s single sculls event before his female teammates succeeded in the women’s fours category.

The Hanoians also pocketed two silvers in the lightweight women’s quadruple sculls and lightweight men’s double sculls pools and one bronze in the men’s doubles.

Hải Dương Province rank second with two golds while Đà Nẵng are third with one gold and three bronzes.
