HÀ NỘI — Swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên has set a target of winning a medal at the Asian Swimming Championship in Japan from November 17-20.

The Vietnamese No. 1 is expected to enter the top three in her strong category -- the women’s 400m individual medley event.

She swam 4min 36.85sec to rank in ninth place at the Rio Olympics.

Viên is one of four Vietnamese representatives in the upcoming Tokyo competition. The three others are Trần Duy Khôi, Lê Nguyễn Paul and Lâm Quang Nhật, but none of them have a personal best result close to last year’s medalists. — VNS
