HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam’s national football team tied with Jeonju University team of South Korea 1-1 in their second friendly match in South Korea on October 25.
Coach Nguyễn Hữu Thắng used the 4-4-1-1 strategy in this match to test whether the defence tactic worked.
Việt Nam controlled the match from the first minutes. From a corner kick in the left wing, Hoàng Đình Tùng put his header past the Jeonju University goalkeeper to open the score for Việt Nam in the 28th minute.
Việt Nam continued creating many chances to double the score but failed.
In the 65th minute, taking full advantage of an error by the Vietnamese defenders, the host team leveled the score to 1-1.
Earlier, Việt Nam beat FC Seoul in the K.League 3-0. Việt Nam are scheduled to meet Pocheon, defending champions of the K3 League, in the third friendly match.
Việt Nam are training in South Korea for two weeks to prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Football Federation Cup. — VNS
