Việt Nam futsal national team have been training hard for the ASEAN Futsal Championship for three weeks. The event has been canceled. — Photo thethaovietnam.vn

HÀ NỘI — The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has canceled the regional futsal championship.

The tournament was scheduled from October 31 to November 8 in Bangkok.

Việt Nam were drawn in Group A with East Timor, Brunei and the hosts while Group B featured Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore and Indonesia.

However the AFF said Thailand withdrew from holding the competition after the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej early this month as no entertainment could be held during a period of 30 days of mounring.

The AFF has found no other member who could host the tournament. — VNS
