HÀ NỘI — Trịnh Đức Tâm won the second stage of Indonesian Tour de Siak on October 20 and also claimed the yellow jersey as leader.

Tâm covered 181.12 km from Siak to Perawang in 4hr 17.53min, overtaking Lewis Felias of team Black Ink CNN and Selamat Jungga of KFC BT Jakarta in a photo finish.

His total time after two stages is enough to claim the yellow jersey from teammate Trần Thanh Điền, who was among the riders in the third group to the finish. “It is a hard stage with only 15km on flat terrain; the rest was hilly. It exhausted us, to support Tâm to finish first as well as protect Việt Nam’s top ranking,” said Điền.

The Vietnamese team topped the tournament with a total time of 23:15.55. Black Ink CNN came second and KFC BT Jakarta third.

The third stage, from Siak to Sungai Apit, is 115.45km. — VNS
