HÀ NỘI — HCM City bagged the top spot in the finswimming event at the National Swimming and Finswimming Championships in Hà Nội.

The city’s athletes pocketed eight gold, nine silver and six bronze medals after four days of competitions at the Aquatic Sports Centre.

Đà Nẵng came second with five golds, followed by hosts Hà Nội who have four titles.

Nearly 100 finswimmers from 16 delegations participated in the event, which saw six new national records, half of them set by HCM City and the others by Thanh Hóa, Thái Bình and Hà Nội.The swimming event continues with competitors vying for 43 sets of medals.

The championship ends on October 22. — VNS
