HÀ NỘI — V.League side Cần Thơ have extended their contract with coach Vũ Quang Bảo and their foreign players after the 2016 tournament ended last weekend.

Bảo, who will stay with the Mekong Delta club for one more year, is gearing up for the new season.

He and the club’s coaching team want to continue with Tambwe Patiyo and Oseni Ganiyu Bolaji, whose performances were appreciated last year.

Cần Thơ, which ended their relationship with national midfielder Đinh Tiến Thành who joined FLC Thanh Hóa, will go shopping in the next few weeks.

Cần Thơ were one of the teams that bought several players last season but finished at the 11th position out of 14 squads, only one place better than the previous year.

In other personnel changes, Hải Phòng, which claimed the silver medal this season, said goodbye to six players.

President Trần Mạnh Hùng said his team had plans and needed players who would meet the demand. The managers had thought a lot before going ahead with their decision, which they believed would benefit both the club and the players. — VNS
