Việt Nam’s Thông Tin Liên Việt Post Bank lost 21-25, 16-21, 22-25 to Kazakhstan’s Altay VC in the first match of the second qualifier at the ongoing Asian Women’s Volleyball Club Championship yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s Thông Tin Liên Việt Post Bank lost 21-25, 16-21, 22-25 to Kazakhstan’s Altay VC in the first match of the second qualifier at the ongoing Asian Women’s Volleyball Club Championship yesterday.

It was the team’s first defeat at the event, held in Banan City in the Philippines.

In the next round, Liên Việt Post Bank will play the Japanese NEC Red Rockets today.

The Rockets beat host Foton Pilipinas 25-13, 25-15, 25-12.

In other activities, Indonesian Jakarta Elektrik PLN won 25-12, 25-15, 25-12 over Kwai Tsing of Hong Kong. Chinese Bayi Army trounced Iranian Bank Sarmayeh 25-18, 25-19, 25-14.

The championship will wrap up on Sunday. — VNS
