HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam advance to the final of the KBZ Bank Cup after their 1-1 draw against Consadole Sapporo Club’s U18 team yesterday in Myanmar.

Vietnamese Trần Thành netted from a penalty shoot-out at the 61st minute to level the scores. Earlier, Tomoya Shimoda opened the score with a close-range finish after a counter-attack that originated from a mistake by Vietnamese defenders.

In a later match yesterday, hosts Myanmar defeated Thailand 1-0.

While posting one win and two draws, Việt Nam topped the table with five points.

In the final, Việt Nam will play Consadole Sapporo again on Sunday. Consadole Sapporo had as many points as Myanmar, but ranked second due to a better goal difference.
