Nhân wins first stage of Cycling Cup

HÀ NỘI — Trần Nguyễn Duy Nhân passed French Desriac Loic in the last dozen metres to win the first stage of the VTV International Cycling Tournament, the Tôn Hoa Sen Cup, yesterday.

Nhân of Military Zone 7 finished the 50km stage, 20 laps, around Đà Nẵng City with a time of 1hr 6.42min.

Loic, of Thailand’s SICT crew, who was angry at the finish line, came second, followed by Trịnh Đức Tâm of Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời.

Nhân also leads the race to the green jersey for the best cyclist with 26 points. Tâm was second with two points less.

SICT topped the team ranking after the first stage. Military Zone 7 came second and AV Việt Mỹ Association HCM City were at third.

Nhân will wear the yellow jersey to start the second stage from Lăng Cô to Huế City for a distance of 96km. — VNS
