HÀ NỘI — International Master Trần Tuấn Minh dropped three positions to 27th out of 80 players at the ongoing World Junior (U-20) Chess Championship in India.

Minh tied with Grandadam Patrik of Switzerland in the eighth round, giving him 4.5 total points.

In the ninth round, Minh will face Dhulipalla Bala Chandra Prasad of Indonesia, who drew with Yuan Qingyu of China in the eighth round and ranks 36th with 4.5 points.

Trần Minh Thắng lost to Studer Noel of Switzerland to rank 55th. He will meet Lokander Martin of Switzerland in the next round.

Xiong Jeffery of the US is on top of the event with 6.5 points, followed by Karthikeyan Murali of Indonesia and Xu Yinglun of China, both with six. — VNS
