HÀ NỘI — Viet Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam has dropped seven places from world No 862 to No 869 in the latest ATP rankings.

Nam fell due to his recent defeat to Indonesia’s Christopher Rungkat in the first round of the Men’s Futures F2 in the southern province of Bình Dương.

In the men’s doubles rankings, thanks to making the Men’s Futures F2’s semi-final, Nam rose up 306 steps to world No 1332 and Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên increased 219 steps to world No 1319.

Nam was the first Vietnamese tennis player to win a Grand Slam title after he won the boys’ doubles final at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. —   VNS
