HÀ NỘI – Quảng Nam crushed Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) 2-0 in the 17th round of the V.League 1 yesterday.

The two teams played with high speed since the first minutes of the match. In the 17th minute, Quảng Nam’s Diao Sadio received a yellow card after making an error with a HAGL player.

In the 30th minute, from a pass of Đinh Thanh Trung, Dos Rei Claudecir put his header past HAGL’s goalie and opened the score to 1-0 for Quảng Nam.

Only 14 minutes later, Sadio doubled the score to 2-0.

In the second half, HAGL’s Trần Minh Vương took the place of Trần Vũ and created several chances to score goals, but failed.

In the 66th minute, Claudecir faced HAGL’s goal keeper but the Brazilian striker also failed to convert this into a goal.

In other matches yesterday, Hải Phòng lost to Đà Nẵng 0-3, Thanh Hóa tied with Bình Dương 2-2, Quảng Ninh Coal bested Long An 2-1 and Hà Nội T&T beat Sông Lam Nghệ An 1-0.

On Saturday, Sanna Khánh Hòa tied with Đồng Tháp 1-1 .

Before the match, coach Trần Công Minh said it would be a very difficult game for his bottom-placed team against Khánh Hòa, which is ranked 10th out of 14 teams.

However, Đồng Tháp dominated the match since the first minute of the game and Trịnh Hoài Nam opened the score of Đồng Tháp in the 37th minute.

After the break, Uche Iheruome levelled the score for Khánh Hòa.

In other news, Cần Thơ didn’t take full advantage of its hometurf game, losing to Sài Gòn 0-1.

In the sixth minute, Văn Ngọc opened the score for the visitor, Sài Gòn. Since then the team played defence-attack to protect their slim win.

After 17 rounds, Hải Phòng temporarily took the lead with 34 points, followed by Đà Nẵng with 31 points and Thanh Hóa with 30 points. — VNS
