HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thành Nhân won the first gold medal for Việt Nam at the ongoing ASEAN University Games in Singapore on July 14.

High jumper Nhân scored 2.13m in the men’s category at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium.

In table tennis, the women’s team lost to Singapore 0-3 in their fourth group round match.

In pencak silat, Nguyễn Văn Trị entered the final match of the men’s class, beating Firdhana Wahyu Putra of Indonesia in the semi-finals. — VNS
