HÀ NỘI — South Korean An Seonjin beat yellow jersey holder Nguyễn Thị Thật to win the third stage of the National Women’s Open Cycling Tournament of the An Giang Television Cup yesterday.
An was not in the leading group for most of the round, but she made an outstanding sprint as the tour neared the finish line.
Her sudden attack helped her pass Thật of the Hạt Ngọc Trời crew to win the 96km tour from Đồng Xoài Town of Bình Phước Province to Củ Chi District of HCM City, with a time of 2hr 39.18min.
Despite taking second place yesterday, Thật remains at the top of the overall ranking. Kim Hyunjin, also a South Korean, and An are placed second and third, respectively.
The South Korea crew lead the team ranking by a six-second gap. Hạt Ngọc Trời and Biwase Bình Dương are followers.
The fourth stage will run from Bình Chánh District to Trà Vinh Province, a 120km course. — VNS
