HÀ NỘI —  Japan’s Yokohama FC wants to renew a loan contract with midfielder Nguyễn Tuấn Anh of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) for another 5-10 years.

Koji Kitawaga, chairman of Yokohama, asked HAGL president Đoàn Nguyên Đức for this during a recent meeting between the two sides.

21-year-old Anh is a former footballer of the U19 Việt Nam team. He signed a one-year loan contract with the Japanese club for the 2016 season. He hasn’t played any matches for his new team yet. But he is highly appreciated for his talent and for his hard work in training and in learning Japanese.

Kitawaga also said he was ready to let Anh return to Việt Nam to wear the U23 national team jersey at any time.

Earlier, Mito Hollyhock club President Kunio Numata also asked Đức for a one-year contract extension for HAGL striker Nguyễn Công Phượng.
