Nguyễn Tấn Hoài of Domesco Đồng Tháp and Nguyễn Minh Luận of Vĩnh Long finished second and third, respectively.

The race was shortened from 116km to 97km, forcing all teams and to make adjustments and Tùng took advance to win a stage for the first time and secure first place after 12 stages.

He ended An Giang’s Nguyễn Thành Tâm’s hold on the jersey, who held it for each of the previous 11 stages. Tâm’s fall 3km from the finish line caused him drop to second place but he maintained the green jersey.
