HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội triumphed at the National Wushu Championships, which closed yesterday in HCM City.

After four days of competition, Hanoians topped the medal tally with 20 golds, five silvers and two bronzes.

HCM City came second, followed by the Public Security.

“The good news is that the number of teams who took part in taolu categories is rising,” said Vũ Văn Trung, head of the Wushu Department of the National Sports Administration. “The bigger volume of athletes made the tournament more aggressive and attracted more spectators.
“And here we also saw artists who were still young, but showed off their talents.”
This year, the tournament lured nearly 300 athletes from 28 teams nationwide, competing in both taolu (performance) and sanshou (combat) events. — VNS
