Hưng grabs HCM City Television Cup’s fourth stage

HÀ NỘI — Veteran cyclist Mai Nguyễn Hưng has won the fourth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Cup.

Hưng of VUS HCM City competed the 54km around Vinh City’s Hồ Chí Minh Square with a time of 1hr 11.56min yesterday.

The former national team member ran away from a group of four near the finish line to take his first win in this year’s tournament.

Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7, Lê Ngọc Sơn of An Giang and Nguyễn Vũ Linh of Domesco Đồng Tháp took the following positions, respectively.

Yellow jersey holder Nguyễn Thành Tâm maintains his position as tour leader although he did not finish in the top three in this stage.

VUS HCM lead the team ranking after four stages.

The fifth stage today will be from Vinh City, Nghệ An Province, to Đồng Hới City, Quảng Bình Province, a distance of 199km. It is the longest stage of the 19-stage tournament. — VNS
