Futsal coach Garcia selects players for friendly matches

The national futsal team’s coach Bruno Garcia has called 20 players for their friendly matches in Japan to prepare for the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016’s final round.

National futsal coach Bruno Garcia has called up 20 players for friendly matches in Japan to prepare for the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016 final round.

The coach named veterans such as Nguyễn Bảo Quân, Trần Long Vũ, Phùng Trọng Luân, Nguyễn Minh Trí and Nguyễn Văn Huy.

He also included Ngô Đình Thuận, Đặng Phi Tiến and Cổ Trí Kiệt who played outstandingly in the second leg of the recent National Futsal Championship.

Garcia also added four raw recruits including Nguyễn Mạnh Dũng and Vũ Ngọc Lân into his team.

The team convened yesterday in HCM City’s Thái Sơn Nam Sports Centre before leaving for Japan.

Việt Nam will play Japan on April 22 and Uzbekistan one day later.

Việt Nam knocked out reigning champion Japan in the quarter-final round of the AFC Futsal Championship on February 17 in Uzbekistan, qualifying for the World Cup in Colombia from September 10 to October 1. – VNS
