Update: February, 25/2016 - 11:06
DA NANG  (VNS) — Kayak teams will compete in the Han River Kayak Race in Da Nang today.

The city's Kayak Club said 30 teams from the city and neighbouring reas will take part in a 2.5km race from the Dragon Bridge to the Han River Swing Bridge and back.

The club said members of yacht teams from the Clipper World Yacht Race, who are in the middle of a 10-day stop-over in the city from February 17 to 27, would participate as well.

The city's Kayak Club was created last year. It has 35 official members and more than 100 trainees.

Kayak was introduced in the city along with efforts to boost the sport's popularity and attract more tourists to the coastal destination.

The club's 20 kayaks, three air boats and machine boat can support regular training sessions for members and tourists.

Competitors can register to take part in the race at — VNS
