Tung wins silver medal at Asian cycling event

HA NOI (VNS) — Huynh Thanh Tung won a silver medal at the 2016 Asian Cycling Championships in Oshima, Japan on Sunday.

Tung finished second out of 34 cyclists in the men's U23 119km mass start.

Mehdi Rajabi of Iran won the race.

20-year-old Tung is a member of the national cycling team.

Earlier, Phan Hoang Thai also earned a silver medal in the men's junior road race.

Dozens of male and female athletes from several Asian countries, including China, Iran, Kazakhstan and Japan, are competing for top honors at the continental sporting event which will wrap up on January 30. — VNS
