HCM CITY (VNS) — Striker Hoang Nhat Nam has signed a one-year contract with HCM City FC and is expected to help the team gain promotion to the V.League next season.

Nam, 25, left Nam Dinh FC for HCM City after receiving several offers from different clubs, including former V.League champions SHB Da Nang.

"HCM City are keen to back into the national premier league. Starting in the first division will be a chance for me to grow to highest level if we get promoted," said Nam.

"Leaving Nam Dinh made me a little sad but I really want to test myself in a new environment. I hope my new teammates and coaches will support me."

"Nam is a good player. I think he will give us more strength up front and give us different attacking options, even though he is quite small," said coach Lu Dinh Tuan.
