Vietnamese masters on world chess championships top 3

HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam has three masters among the top three in the World Youth and Cadets Chess Championships after six rounds in Greece.

Nguyen Quoc Hy proved his mastery of the game with another win over Sindarov Javokhir of Ukraine. Hy has 5.5 points and leads the Open U10 category.

The master, who has not lost, will next play Wang Justin of the US.

The second master of Viet Nam is Tan Huynh Thanh Truc in the Girls' U12 event.

Truc is in eighth place with five points and will next compete against Asadi Motahare of Iran.

The championships will wrap up after round 11 on November 5. — VNS
